A design around this size is worth comparing when your household is electrifying more appliances. Discuss any planned EV charging, pool equipment or hot-water changes before the roof layout is finalised.

More room for a growing household’s daytime loads
A 8kW label describes the array’s nominal panel capacity. It does not describe a guaranteed amount of daily electricity. Your proposal should explain the equipment, layout and assumptions used to estimate production for your property.
Read the proposal as a complete system
Compare the panel and inverter model numbers, mounting arrangements and monitoring access together. Ask which switchboard, metering and connection works are included, and which items require a separate allowance. Keep the panel product warranty, panel performance warranty and inverter warranty as separate lines in your comparison.
Plan the next step before installation
- Share recent bills and interval usage data if available.
- Flag roof repairs, planned renovations and changes to appliances.
- Discuss any shading, phase supply and export restrictions during assessment.
- Ask for a written scope, payment stages and handover documents.
Questions worth asking
How many panels are in a 8kW system?
The count depends on each panel’s rated wattage and the final design. Ask for the module count and combined array rating on the quotation rather than assuming every package with the same label uses the same panels.
Can a battery be included?
Ask us to compare solar-only and solar-with-storage proposals. Battery choice should follow your intended evening usage, compatible equipment and any backup requirements.
Is the advertised size automatically suitable for my property?
No. The roof, electrical supply, connection requirements and your usage must be assessed before the equipment and installation price are confirmed.
